Imagine a park with kids of all abilities playing together building healthy relationships. Imagine a park with fun activities that are finally accessible to those who could not access them before. Seeing the vision of this park is easy, because it’s already been done. The pictures you see are from the original Common Ground Park in Lakeland, Florida. We just need to duplicate it with some changes to fit our community.
To make this happen A Park Above, Inc. Foundation has partnered with the City of Vision : Rio Rancho, State of New Mexico, Presbyterian Rust Medical Center, local business, and with plenty of support from the community. We can ALL be proud of this accomplishment! A Park Above board has been diligently working on this project for nearly 4 years. The Rotary Club of Rio Rancho has been very supportive in the conception of this project….
WE HAVE LAND!!!! 4 acres on the East side of the Newly opened Presbyterian Rust Medical Center that boarders Rio Rancho and Albuquerque…between Unser & Golf Course! WE HAVE 1/2 the FUNDING through Capital Outlay & corporate sponsors! Help us complete our goal of $2.8 Million…due to the high tech components and specific requirements for the “Green Water Splash Area” , computers and motion activated screens, amphitheater, giant video game for heart, lungs, and hand-eye coordination, this project requires all funds in order to break ground to complete the complicated park…this is not an ordinary park … it is A Park Above!
Please join us today, and work with us as we make history, building the first “Common Ground ~ A Park Above” in this area, in Rio Rancho. This will be a destination park for the State of New Mexico drawing in visitors & businesses! The projected play equipment will be designed for ALL abilities for ALL children. Therapists can help their clients utilizing the park equipment! Plans for a Concessions Building, Buddy Day, scheduled educational programs, and many volunteers will be needed!
We have in place many opportunity’s for community ownership…let us know you want to help!
As Mayor Swisstack says, it takes a village, and that is what we will do, build this incredible park though community effort, business support, county and state! We are working to have in place a perpetual fund should any equipment need to be replaced. This high tech park will be a destination for the entire community, where therapy, exercise & fun can happen with community pride. There is also planned a Fitness Trail that will surround the Park donated by Presbyterian Rust Medical Center : $ 150,000.00!!!!
Proudly: A Park Above is a 501(c)(3) and an ALL volunteer Board & Foundation
